Bookkeeper

Reporting to the branch manager and working closely with the Controller and Accounting and finance director, the Bookkeeper is responsible for the on-going bookkeeping functions of the company in compliance with standards and legal obligations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

Client Invoicing and accounts receivable:

  • Ensure customer invoices are processed in a timely manner.
  • Manage and process Pre-Authorized Debit and Credit Card payments an deposit.
  • Generate and monitor monthly aged overdue receivables.
  • Process withdrawal deposit refund.
  • Reconcile client’s general ledger and journal entries.
  • Provide invoice and account support including the resolution of issues regarding member accounts and enquiries in collaboration with customer service team.

Bookkeeping and accounts payable:

Produce and verify monthly financial and utilization reports.

  • Perform bank and account reconciliation on a monthly basis.
  • Reconcile corporate credit card and maintain books and records.
  • Coordinate and process accounts payable.
  • Reconciling suppliers’ statements of accounts and process payments according to required deadlines.
  • Be the contact person to answer questions from suppliers and this in our standard of service quality.

PROFILE AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Post-secondary level education in accounting, finance or related field.
  • Minimum of two years of accounting experience with a small to mid-size business.
  • Knowledge of accounting software (Microsoft Dynamics NAV an asset).
  • Demonstrated experience with online payment systems and database programs.
  • Mastery of the Office Suite (mainly Excel).
  • Excellent communication skills both orally and in writing.

LOCATION:

Ottawa, Centertown

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Full-time positions, 5 days/week, about 37.5 hours.
  • Hours: 9am-5pm.
  • Salary: based on experience and skills.
