Your e-bill for the trips you made in June is now ready for viewing. You will find it in the “Personal information” section of your RÉSERVauto account. If you are a new subscriber to electronic billing, we have sent you one last bill by mail, giving you the time to ensure you are indeed receiving our emails. Access to Communauto vehicles in Québec City and Montreal
What you should do if you have problems with your OPUS card?
We have received several reports of people having trouble disabling their vehicle’s anti-theft device using their OPUS card. For this reason, we have extended the deadline for removing the RFID keys attached to the car keys. So if you have a problem with your OPUS card, you will be able to use that key. Before removing RFID keys from the key boxes, we will take all the necessary steps to properly assess the situation. This way we will avoid putting you at risk when you use the service.
You can help us assess the situation by using your OPUS card as much as possible when using a vehicle. In order to streamline the process, we have set up an interface in which you simply check a box to inform us of the problem:
Check here to report a problem with your OPUS card:
This interface is accessible in the Contact us online section in RÉSERVauto (top right corner of the screen).
Although we are extending the removal of RFID keys from our key boxes, it is very important to take a few minutes to register your OPUS card in RÉSERVauto if you haven’t already done so. Nearly 12,000 people have already registered their cards. By doing so, you will automatically have access to the one-way carsharing component of our service, Auto-mobile.
In addition, by registering your OPUS card immediately, you will be able to make sure it works before we remove the RFID keys from the key boxes.
Thank you in advance for your collaboration.
Sherbrooke key boxes will soon be removed
Since OPUS cards are only currently capable of disabling anti-theft devices and cannot yet be used to unlock doors, anyone planning to use a vehicle in Sherbrooke will have to order an RFID key in advance.
Sherbrooke residents will soon be the first Communauto users to no longer use key boxes. Our partner, Vrtucar in Ottawa, adopted this practice a few years ago, and we are about to follow suit.
Based on our records, all Sherbrooke users who did not receive an RFID key when they registered for the service were mailed a key a few weeks ago. If you cannot find your key, please notify us immediately so we can send you another one as soon as possible. A replacement fee will apply. We will soon be removing RFID keys from key boxes in Sherbrooke (sooner than anywhere else), as well as the key boxes.
Write to us via Contact us online in RÉSERVauto to order an RFID key.
Auto-mobile: Free subscription open to everyone
Tell your friends! Auto-mobile, our 100% electric one-way carsharing service, is available to everyone who wishes to use it for their trips from point A to B. It’s even available to those who don’t wish to become users of Communauto’s regular service. This new membership is free, quick and easy. A few clicks, an OPUS card and a driver’s license are enough to register.
The service available on the Plateau-Mont-Royal borough was recently improved by the arrival of a universal parking permit allowing carsharing users to park the Auto-mobile vehicles in the residents-only reserved zones of the borough.
The cost of the paper bill will increase from 50¢ to $1 for September trips on the October bill
The decision to accelerate the adoption of the e-bill was announced in the latest edition of the Echo-mobile. Even $1, the amount charged for printing, handling and mailing a paper bill, only covers a fraction of its production costs. We invite you all to adopt this new billing method in order to help us minimize administrative expenses and provide access to our vehicles at the best possible price.
So far, over 13,000 Communauto subscribers have chosen the e-bill. Not only is this billing method more environmentally friendly but it also gives you the possibility to add comments to your reservations.
To register for the e-bill, log in to RÉSERVauto from the Communauto or Communopolis home page with your membership number and password. Click on the “Personal information” link in the main menu and select the option to stop receiving the paper bill.
New DUO auto+bus subscribers get a month of STM public transportation for free
Again this year, everyone who signs up for an annual STM subscription at regular fare gets the 12th month of their subscription for free, thanks to the Transport Québec campaign aiming to alleviate traffic congestion due to the many roadwork projects. This offer is also valid for Communauto members who decide to sign up to the DUO auto+bus before August 11, 2013.
In addition to getting the 12th month of their STM subscription for free, they will also have access to the advantages already offered with the DUO:
• Those who choose the non-member DUO auto+bus, by adding $5/month to their STM subscription, have access to Package C from Communauto without having to pay the $500 membership fee and the $39 of annual dues.
• Those who choose the member DUO auto+bus, by paying the membership fee of $500 (which is 100% refundable upon cancellation), save $3/month on their annual dues at Communauto.
Users who subscribed to the DUO after September 11, 2012 will automatically be signed up to the promotion as of August 1, 2013. If their STM subscription is maintained for 11 consecutive months, the month of July 2014 will be free.
Those who subscribed between November 14, 2011 and September 11, 2012 will receive one month free and will pay the 2013 rates if they remain subscribers in 2014.
The most loyal customers, registered before November 14, 2011 will receive not only one month free, but will also automatically pay the 2012 rates if they maintain their STM annual subscription in 2014, thanks to a special offer from Transport Québec. No subscription is required.
