From July 2 to September 15, 2013, our Summer Getaway promotion will allow you to travel for less while enjoying summer to the fullest. During this period, the Long Distance rate will decrease from $29.95 /day (high season rate effective June 15 to September 15) to $24.95 /day on selected vehicles. Nearly 20% of vehicles at each of our locations (Montreal, Québec City, Gatineau, Sherbrooke) will be offered at this special rate. Therefore, the weekly rate of these vehicles will be of $154.69 instead of $185.69, a savings of nearly 17%.

To take advantage of this promotion, you must search for the vehicles marked with a sun in RÉSERVauto. You will also be able to limit your choice to these vehicles by selecting the option FIND A CAR AT $24.95/DAY after having chosen “Long distance” in “Requested rate” (step 4). If no vehicles are offered, click on the “More stations” button to expand your selection.

The Summer Getaway rate will also be available on our mobile website (iPhone and Android compatible).

Starting mid-June, some twenty 100% electric vehicles will be available for one-way carsharing. No need to reserve, specify a drop-off time or return the vehicle to its starting point. This service will be set up by Communauto in collaboration with the Plateau-Mont-Royal borough. The pilot project, Auto-mobile, will help assess the benefits and impacts of such a service. A one-way carsharing project featuring 100% electric vehicles is a first in Canada and only a few similar projects currently exist worldwide.

Since many questions remain unanswered, the City of Montreal will hold a public consultation on the subject on June 11. Will this service increase the number of vehicles in circulation? What impact will it have on the taxi industry? Will it help convince people to give up their personal car and adopt the transportation cocktail?

It is now possible to reserve vehicles in 15 minute increments. However, the minimum length of a reservation remains 30 minutes. For example, you can now reserve a vehicle at 8:15am and return it at 4:15pm.

Remember that you always have the option to modify a reservation while it is in progress by using your smart phone or by contacting our customer service, at no additional calling fee.
